Riverside is a family-friendly church in the 💙 of Burton,
with a 💙 for being Jesus in our community.

We are an independent family church so our service is relaxed in style; it can get noisy and a little chaotic at times! We aim to start at 10.15 am and the service usually lasts for about an hour. We start with a time of sung worship and the children and youth leave for age-appropriate activities with DBS checked workers after a few minutes.
Once the younger members have left, we continue with sung worship and then either listen to a sermon or have a time of Communion together. After the service, everyone is welcome to stay for hot drinks and a biscuit in the back hall.

Supervised children under the age of one can either remain in the service or can go to the creche accompanied by their carers who’re asked to stay with them. Parents can also settle older children in their groups for a while if needed and then return to the service. After the service, parents are reminded to collect children and that they are responsible for their children.

Activities for young people aged 11 to 18 run at the same time as those for the children. The format of the session can vary depending on the week: sometimes we listen to testimonies from older members of the congregation, other times we continue to ‘walk through the Bible’ as we’re looking at each book in order and occasionally, we do something completely different to both of those!

We aim to be as inclusive as possible, so have made some adjustments to help make the space welcoming for:
wheelchair users
those who are hard of hearing
people living with dementia
individuals of all ages who have additional needs.
We are a relaxed and informal church with no dress code. Come and be comfy.
